Go Titans!
Go Titans!

Bryce has decided he wants to be a football player.. so today he strapped the (bike knee) pads onto his shoulders, grabbed his helmet (Bryce says thanks again, Jimmy!), and even put on cleats, and we ran out into the back yard for some (tackle!) football..

Scenes from Soccer...
Soccer season for the boys is winding down. Soccer has been one of our dominant activities this Spring. Thursday practices and Saturday games for each of our boys-- so this is what being overscheduled feels like. Well, okay it's not been that bad.. in fact, we've had so much rain this Spring that it's been tough to get a game and a practice in in the same week.
Poor Aidan's team-- which I've been helping to coach a little bit-- has missed so many practices this season, we've lost count.
So here are some images from games the boys each had yesterday.. in the sunshine, no less!

Aunt Patty in the Country Music Half Marathon!
Today, the boys and I brought Gramma downtown to watch Aunt Patty run in the Country Music Half Marathon.. the boys were really good at 'helping' Gramma to navigate the streets downtown and find a good spot along the course to watch for Patty.
We setup our chairs just outside LP Field (where the Titans play) in the last 1/2 mile or so of the course.Patty spotted us and came over to give the boys each a big high-five.
After the race, we were able to find Patty in the 'Family Reunion' area and take a couple of pictures. Aidan was VERY proud to hold Patty's medal.Congratulations, Patty!

Soccer gets started!
Aidan and Bryce were scheduled to have their first soccer matches of the season (and for Bryce, the first of his career) yesterday. Aidan's game was rained out in the morning, but Bryce and his team played on in the afternoon. The turf was a little soggy, but the 3-4 year olds were gritty and didn't let a little water stop them! Plus, they were just so darn cute in their jerseys!
Bryce has lots to learn, but he's really having fun so we're looking forward to a good season!

Crossing the Finish Line
Just wanted to be sure to post this picture of Aidan crossing the finish line at the last X-Country meet of the season.
Grampa pointed out that you can see the clock in the picture-- and it looks like Aidan finished in REALLY nice time! No, no stopwatches next year!
Thanks to Gramma and Grampa for the great picture!

A couple of shots from today's cross country meet, the second of the year.
(We'll be missing next week's meet while we're in Louisville for our friend Tanya's wedding.)(for more pictures, click on our Flickr badge on the sidebar)

Cross Country Sunday.. and some Wobbly news!
Aidan had his first meet of the new Cross Country Season this afternoon.
The 1st and 2nd Grade boys ran as a group-- so it was a bit more crowded at the starting line this year. But Aidan had a great run-- despite the heat (in the low-mid 90s at midday today)-- and finished near several of the other good runners in his class.
He was really happy when he finished... so we sat in the shade for a few minutes and had some ice water to drink..
Then while Bryce was asking me if we could go to the nearby playground, Aidan looked up and said "Guess what? My tooth came out!"After a quick, if slightly frantic search to find the tooth-- it was on the seat of his chair-- we dropped it into a ziplock bag and brought it home.
Aidan's anxious now for the tooth fairy to come. He's hoping that she'll bring him a half-dollar. Keep your fingers crossed!
